Office development for IIB bank incorporating a reconstructed 1940s former ‘Moderne’ garage and an apartment block
Floor area: 15,500 m² (166,840 ft²)
Residential units: 60
The project entailed the reconstruction of the original ‘moderne’ Archer’s Garage, to match the original form and construction technology of the 1940s structure.
The new office building envelops the reconstructed garage with a linking atrium to connect the old and new.
The apartments which were developed are dual aspect with optimum orientation, generous provision of storage and private open space and shared roof gardens. A number of universally-accessible apartments are provided for live-work or residential use while affordable apartments are distributed throughout for a better social mix
