To facilitate the early commencement of manufacturing, the initial project involved the adaptation and refurbishment of the existing advance factory.
The project for the much larger main building followed immediately, with construction programmed and managed to facilitate ongoing manufacturing in the phase 1 building,
The ordering element of the building composition is a long corridor connecting the staff entrance to all production areas, warehouses, w/c’s, changing areas and canteen. Running east-west along the full length of the building, it was designed to later for the potential future expansions.
Other projects completed by the practice on site include a new reception building and the refurbishment and conversion of the former stables of the Model Farm Institute Building, a protected structure, into office accommodation and meeting rooms for the administration staff.
