Frascati Shopping Centre

The project required the delivery of a new feature mall and atrium, alongside a two-storey car park, effectively doubling the retail area of the centre. The works introduced new retail units, restaurants, a health and beauty offering, and a medical centre. Extensive drainage diversions, landscaping and public realm upgrades were also necessary. A key challenge was maintaining full operation of the shopping centre throughout construction, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and visitors.

This complex project involved a new structure that wraps around the existing centre, integrating seamlessly with the operational building. The extension is formed using structural steel frame with metal decking floors, while the care park utilises reinforced concrete columns and beams with long-span precast panels. The external envelope combines techrete panels, rainscreen cladding and curtain walling to create a contemporary finish. The project came to us in 2019 partially complete, the team has led further reconfiguration works, including the redevelopment of the former Debenhams unit to accommodate a new basement retail space.

Frascati Shopping Centre has been transformed into a vibrant retail and dining destination, now accommodating 36 retail brands, many of which are Irish-owned businesses. Following a multi-year development, the renewed centre offers an enhanced customer experience, anchored by key flagship tenants including Aldi, M&S and Homestore and More. The project successfully delvers a modern, flexible retail environment while revitalising a well-established centre within Blackrock.
